Neighbours in the dark

This is the scene I was facing at dinner time the other day.
There is usually little animation around the grandma living accross from my living room but that day it seems someone came in there to brighten her day.... but what the heck is he doing!?

Climbing near Chillan Hot Springs

Last week-end was a long week-end in Chile. Monday was off and we decided to head South to go climbing into the wild ;-)

After a last minute change of plans (the road to our initial destination was blocked), we spent 3 days near Chillan hot springs (6 hours drive from Santiago).
We = Benoit, Taryn and Florence (+ myself obviously). The great thing is we also met our good friend Pancho from Santiago who was climbing there with 3 friends from Concepcion. We climbed together and even gathered for a really nice BBQ at Julian's parents' cabin nearby. 3 Kg of meat for 8 people... that's the chilean way of life ;-)

The program was pretty straightforward: climbing, climbing and more climbing!
We camped at a nearby campsite equipped with 2 hot spring pools: one at 36°C and the other one at 40°C... But only cold water for the shower!! Refreshing...

We really had a great time. We virtually spent the whole week-end seeing nobody, enjoying the nice surrounding, fresh air and outdoor activities :-)

Here's a few shots:

Touring Chile

After few years without seeing each other (well, it's not exactly true for Rodolphe who visited me a couple of times in Asia..), my good friends from engineering school Rodolphe, Julien and his girlfriend Valérie came to pay me a visit in Chile.
In 12 days we covered the main tourist spots:
- The desert of San Pedro de Atacama up North (the driest in desert in the World)
- The lake regions with Puerto Varas, Ensenada, the Lago de todos los santos (Lake of all saints) and Peulla in the South of Chile
- Puerto Natales / Torres del Paine in the Southern part of Chile or Chilean Patagonia.

We really had a great time! And although it was sort of short we got a real good overview of what Chile has to offer for the nature lover. And a lot to offer it has!! From South to North (or conversely in our case) Chile really is a beautiful place and there are some really incredible, breath taking landscapes.
I'm glad I came here to live! South America and the Andes mountain range has yet a lot for me to discover and enjoy :-)

Enjoy the show!

Sunset in Santiago

Photos shot from the top of my apartment building.

Grand Opening!

Hello everyone and welcome!
It's been now quite a while I wanted to start up my own blog.
After a lot of procrastination, here we are!

The idea is simple: it will be a place to share some photos of my trips, activities and surroundings, whatever those may be.

More to come soon!
Cheers
